Founded by Melissa Saavedra, an immigrant from Peru and a Navy veteran, Steamy Lit stands out by focusing on amplifying the voices of authors who have historically been underrepresented in the romance genre.
From the moment you step through the doors, the welcoming atmosphere invites you to explore shelves brimming with titles by BIPOC authors and those from marginalized identities. This commitment to inclusivity isn’t just about the books on the shelves. “We want to bring the romance book community together by having conversations about embracing our sexuality and amplifying the work of authors that are not as heavily marketed,” shares Saavedra.

Their monthly romance book club is a great way to connect with fellow readers, and they've recently launched a walking audiobook club that combines the joy of reading with the benefits of physical activity.
